Rydon Driver Guidelines
Last updated ยท May 2026
Welcome to Rydon Ghana. These guidelines exist to keep every trip safe, comfortable, and professional for passengers and drivers alike. All Rydon drivers are expected to follow these standards at all times.
1. Safety First
๐ก๏ธ
Vehicle Safety
- Your vehicle must be roadworthy at all times โ valid insurance, road-worthy certificate, and working seatbelts.
- Never drive under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, or any substance that impairs your judgment.
- Obey all Ghana Road Safety Authority (GRSA) traffic rules and speed limits.
- Do not use your phone while driving โ use hands-free or pull over safely.
Passenger Safety
- Require all passengers to wear seatbelts before moving.
- Never share passenger details (name, phone, destination) with third parties.
- If a passenger behaves aggressively or illegally, end the trip safely and report immediately via the SOS button.
Use the SOS button in the app immediately if you feel unsafe. Our team is available 24/7.
2. Professional Conduct
๐ค
- Greet passengers politely and professionally.
- Keep music at a low volume โ ask the passenger's preference.
- Do not discuss politics, religion, or controversial topics unless the passenger initiates.
- Wear clean, presentable clothing โ smart casual is the standard.
- No smoking or eating in the vehicle during a trip.
- Do not solicit extra payment beyond the app fare.
- Do not ask passengers to cancel so you can negotiate a cash deal โ this is a deactivatable offence.
3. Vehicle Standards
๐
- Keep your vehicle clean inside and out โ regular washes are expected.
- Air conditioning must be functional and available to passengers.
- No offensive items, explicit stickers, or hanging objects that obstruct your view.
- Your Rydon Driver ID card must be displayed visibly in the vehicle.
4. Trip Acceptance & Cancellations
๐
- Maintain a trip acceptance rate above 70% to stay in good standing.
- Cancellations after acceptance should be rare โ high cancellation rates will result in account review.
- Do not cancel because of a passenger's destination or perceived fare โ this is discriminatory and a deactivatable offence.
- If you must cancel, do so before reaching the pickup point.
5. Ratings & Feedback
โญ
- Maintain a rating above 4.5 to remain active on the platform.
- Drivers below 4.2 will receive a performance review.
- Drivers below 4.0 after coaching may be deactivated.
- You can dispute unfair ratings through the Help section in the app.
6. Payments & Earnings
๐ฐ
- Fares are set by Rydon and cannot be modified or renegotiated with passengers.
- Cash payments must be confirmed in the app before starting the trip.
- Earnings are paid to your registered MoMo wallet โ keep your number up to date in settings.
- Do not request or accept payment outside of the Rydon app.
7. Documents & Compliance
๐ชช
- Keep your Ghana Card, Driver's Licence, and Vehicle Insurance up to date in the app.
- Expired documents will automatically take you offline until renewed.
- Any change to your vehicle (color, plate, model) must be reported immediately via the Help section.
